Meditation & Reflection
Meditation
In the midst of our questioning and human frailty, the call of Jesus reverberates—an invitation to clothe ourselves in the mantle of prophecy. As faltering disciples, we’re beckoned to discern the signs of our times, offering solace in a world rife with turmoil. The words of Neil de Grasse Tyson echo, reminding us that our solidarity is woven into our very existence, a tapestry of biology, chemistry, and universal bonds. This unity, rooted in science, mirrors the work of a compassionate Savior and guiding Spirit. Our divine call to solidarity urges us to embody the essence of the Divine in our actions.
Amid systems that tout unyielding norms, Jesus charts a different course—the prophetic path. He, who dismantled worldly systems, calls us to do likewise. Despite gravity’s pull and society’s assertions, we hold the power to unite, wield our gifts, and mend divisions. The prophetic journey radiates hope, transcending the limits society imposes. Solidarity and compassion become love in motion.
At the heart of our spirituality rests the pillar of solidarity—a belief in a God who, through Jesus, embraced humanity’s struggles. This revelation compels us to see every person as a reflection of our worth. Salvadoran refugee Ernesto Martell illustrates God’s solidarity in sending Jesus. It’s a call to shift our perspective, recognizing the worth of others as equal to our own. Rooted in shared vulnerability, solidarity blooms: compassion.
