It is human nature to desire and yearn for meaning and purpose in life, to connect with —to be part of—something bigger than ourselves, and to connect with the depths of our Truest self. In this yearning we can learn to integrate the transcendent aspects of the human experience, including the spiritual, with the whole human experience.
The essence of who we are is beyond our personality; transcends our personality. Each of us live our lives between the life we have and the life we desire, between who we think we are and who we really are deep down, between our current limitations and our fullest potential.
We can transcend our current life circumstances. We can relate with Ultimate Reality in deeper richer ways. This is the calling of transpersonal psychology. For many, this is soul (psyche) searching, connection, and meaning.
Transpersonal psychology endeavors to integrate timeless wisdom, perennial philosophy, and spiritual principles with modern psychology and contemporary language. Transpersonal psychology addresses the full spectrum of human psychospiritual development—from our deepest wounds and needs to the existential crisis of the being human, to the most transcendent capacities of our consciousness and the farther reaches of human nature.
